In choosing a dog fence, many things must be considered. Here are some things you must prepare for:

Measure the optimum size of the fence. Size matters and bigger is better. Dogs, from Chihuahuas to Labs, need physical activity and movement to keep them mentally and physically healthy. Carefully measure and set aside the largest area that your property can yield. Dog run fencing based on meshed easy-to-install fences opens up seriously large dimensions while smaller more restricted but potentially sturdier dog kennels offer a good alternative.

Identify food, water and weather protection needs. Space, layouts, overhead weather protection and a quiet resting zone should be carefully assessed before finalizing your outdoor dog fence.

Budgets and costing - impact-resistant fences made from plastic materials give tremendous flexibility in terms of your property layout and cost around $1.40 per linear foot, including fencing material, posts and ground anchor hardware. Most robust and secure fences that cost higher are chain-metal dog kennel fencing systems that offer modular panels and integrated access gates.

Burrowing underneath - by their nature, pet containment fences keep furry friends inside. However, dogs are smart and instinctively examine every inch of your perimeter dog fence or dog kennel to see if there's a weak spot where they can dig under, jump over or speed dial a locksmith to assist in an escape.

Think like a dog and walk every foot of your pet fencing, looking for loose soft ground. Make sure that your ground anchors along with rocks or other weighty objects properly seal the fence from a burrowing pet.

Modular dog kennels - bomb-shelter rugged engineering is what families get when constructing a modular dog kennel. Dog kennel fencing materials vary but the accepted standard is some form of anodized aluminum chain-metal fencing.

Are you losing your pets to accidents? Do they wander and never return? Show them that you care. Keep your pets safe from harm with the wireless fence dog.

Shockingly, 50% of all cats over the age of 10 have some form of cancer. For most people, it can be hard to imagine how or why cancer in cats is so prevalent.

Although veterinary research has led to advances that can extend the life of cats with cancer, it fails to focus on the cause. Radiation and chemotherapy are expensive and quite toxic to a pet whose immune system is already weak. Non-toxic, alternative therapies offer great hope. When administered along with radiation and chemo they can offset the toxic effects of cancer treatment. Some holistic vets are having success using them as an alternative to conventional treatment.

The ability of your cat to survive cancer depends on how quickly it is diagnosed, the type of cancer, and your commitment to ferret out the potential causes in your home. Different types of cancer will require slightly different treatments, but in all cases, the underlying cause of cancer is a weakened immune system.

The Cornerstone of Health- The Immune System

Your cat's body is replacing old worn out cells ever day. As the old cells die, they are removed to the colon as waste, and replaced with new cells that are identical! When your cats' immune system is healthy, the amount of replacement cells is equal to the amount of cells that die off: Any abnormal cells are quickly identified and removed before they can replicate.

When the immune system does not perform its function correctly, two things happen:

1.Cells do not die off when they should, and more cells are produced, leading to more cells than there should be.

2. The immune system fails to recognize abnormal cells so they begin to replicate. The abnormal cells begin to bind together, form cancerous masses.

Primary Causes of Cat Cancer

Cancer does not develop in healthy cats: It is the result of exposure to some toxic elements over time. Finding the potential causes in your home means examining the water, air quality, and bedding for toxic chemicals. Recent research has shown a connection between the two cornerstones of pet ownership, vaccinations and packaged pet foods.

You can minimize the potential for cat cancer, by reducing the frequency of vaccines and changing you cat's diet away from packaged cat foods. Also, adding immune system supplements encourages the immune system to fight back against cancer cells in sick cats.

When people hear American Pit Bull Terrier, a lot of them picture an aggressive, vicious and human attacker 60 pounds of dog. This pejorative misconception leads to a bad reputation of this lovable and protective companion. However, the truth is, American Pit Bull Terriers are intelligent, loyal, and fun loving animals that only got a strayed reputation because of irresponsible owners.

The history and bad reputation of the breed started in England in the year 1835. During these times, the violent and sadistic game of bull baiting was so popular that some breeders were inspired to breed bulldogs for dog fighting. They were impressed with the dogs' tenacity and fierceness that they mixed it with Terrier blood which resulted to the Bull Terrier.

The Bull Terrier was born with impressive characters which are: aggressiveness to its enemies, tenacity and bravery, high pain threshold, and at the same time they are affectionate and sociable to people. These traits made the dog unbeatable and fatal in the dog fight scene. However, the Bull Terrier was not all violence because its natural ability to be caring and loyal to humans made the difference.

Bull baiting was eventually outlawed in England and this forced some people to cease the breeding for dog fighting. In the middle of 1800's, immigrants introduced the Bull Terrier to the United States but not for fighting anymore. During these times, the Bull Terrier was used as an- all around farm dog and frontier guardian.

The Bull Terrier officially became the American Pit Bull Terrier in 1889. This time, it was becoming very popular among breeders and non-breeders alike. In fact, companies such as Buster Brown Shoe Company, RCA phonograph and Levi's used the APBT as their mascots, representing dependability, loyalty, toughness and bravery.

There were also some famous people who had APBT as pets. There was Theodore Roosevelt, Hellen Keller, and Little House books' Laura Ingals Wilder. During World War I, APBT was highly regarded that even a Pit Bull named Stubby became a decorated war hero.

Despite the popularity and recognition, however, the American Pit Bull Terrier did not receive all praise and good fortune. Secret dog fights were uncovered and controversial human attacks were reported that kennel clubs changed its name and standard quite a few times. From the Bull Terrier, it became American Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Terrier and now to American Pit Bull Terrier again.

There are still many people who breed and raise APBT for dog fighting and aggressiveness. Because of this bad training, indeed some APBT lost their human affection. In view of this, it is not the poor dog that's to be blamed for their misled behaviors but those heartless individuals who only wish to satisfy their violent cravings and selfish, and often, criminal acts.

When a dog is given Crate training you need not worry about its age till it reaches the elderly stage. Though training the dog during the puppy hood is not the only option. The age is not a factor to crate a dog; also all dogs cannot be crated.

It might not be a right age to handle an older dog in confined space; if taken the same condition in your situation you would need to gate the baby in the kitchen corner.

Crating an elderly dog is delicate and must be handled with utmost care. Older dogs do not have the flexibility and the level of control that they used to in young age. First and foremost, the dog has to be made comfortable in open cages with motivators like toys and food.

Once the dog is getting acquainted to that, now you may lock it in and let it stay there for a longer period of time, when it is fully going on well with that it can be locked up for much longer time. When released it must be in full view of the owner.

In cases of accidents, clean up and go ahead. If an old dog is in the middle of having an accident, it should be taken to the potty area. It should not be scared or bewildered along the process.

Older dogs have their ways to love, understanding, comfort level and tolerance levels. And we have to be responsible enough to understand the accidents, if any, and how to deal with it. Consulting a vet is a wise thing to do if they are not abiding to the house training even after long. Older dogs could develop numerous medical problems that could affect their bladder and bowels. We need to be very careful and informed.

Compassion, love, understanding and patience are the key things while crate training a dog. Dogs are very loyal, faithful and always want to please kind. But, as it gets older, it finds hard to adapt to change.

Keep assured that they are kept loved at all stages so that they please you, no matter training you give to them.

When you get a pet, the first order of business would be to toilet-train the animal so that it doesn't jeopardize the cleanliness of your home. It doesn't matter if you let the pet inside the house itself or not; what matters is where he or she gets used to doing her business. Also, it goes without saying that you need to clean up after it, or else your house will become a breeding ground for germs.

This is my message to you; because when I first got my dog Rover, I didn't train him properly. And since he has been with me for a few years now, I don't think I'll ever be able to teach him to do it right. This is just a minor inconvenience to me, for the most part; I make it a point to clean after the dog, anyway. I may not have pounced onto the task immediately, but it ended up getting done within the half-hour after the deed has been done.

But the problem is that I'm not always at home. Everytime I leave the house for work, the house becomes filled with Rover's "Welcome home" presents. As it turns out, he likes marking the whole house as his territory. And I won't even begin talking about the poop.

When these things happen, I will of course clean Rover's mess immediately. Unfortunately, the waste left behind by my beloved dog leaves a visible stain on my floor. Removing the stains from the tiles was tedious, but doable; when it comes to the grout in between, however, it was impossibly difficult.

As it turns out, the grout in between the tiles is very similar in nature to cement. They are thus porous - they have miniscule gaps that let the dirt seep in slowly. And as it gets deeper, it gets farther from the reach of all traditional scrubbers. In cases such as this, professional help is needed.

As such, I called the grout cleaners here in Tampa. Such a simple set of stains, even though it's beyond the reach of my scrubbing, is everyday business for them. My floor will be kept clean.
